CHIPP - CHIPP Annual Plenary Meeting

2013 CHIPP Annual Plenary Meeting

24-26 June 2013

This year, the meeting will focus on the future of Swiss particle physics, i.e. highlight and discuss the concrete intentions of Swiss research groups for the implementation of the different chapters of the European Strategy in Particle Physics (to be approved on 30 May by the CERN Council). Open minds and constructive criticism are welcome.

Venue: Campus Sursee

The Campus Sursee is the schooling centre of the Schweizerische Baumeisterverband (Swiss Association of Master Builders; Société Suisse des Entrepreneurs) and at the same time one of the largest seminar centres of Switzerland. It has undergone a tremendous development since its first days in 1972: it offers at present more than 53 modular seminar rooms (all with day-light and fully equipped with modern infrastructure), around 200 hotel rooms, and three restaurants. Thanks to its size, the centre benefits of a very professional staff and astonishingly low lodging costs, leading to a very advantageous cost/benefit ratio. The standard hotel rooms are either one or two bed rooms and equipped with the usual conveniences. Free internet access is available in all rooms and on the whole Campus area.

Campus Sursee is located slightly above the old town of Sursee near Lake Sempach, and is easily and conveniently reachable by car and by public transportation. It sits halfway between Olten and Lucerne, and approximately in the middle between Zurich and Berne. For more information please consult http://seminarzentrum.campus-sursee.ch/ or for your arrival http://seminarzentrum.campus-sursee.ch/portraet/anreise.html (available in German only).
